Tensile Membrane and Fabric Architecture

Tensile Membrane technology and fabric application has expanded throughout multiple industries from residential, commercial and industrial applications. Today, tensile membrane fabrics are used in construction fields or used as interior decoration elements; from various fabric fittings, blinds, even furnitures and fabric linings. Tensile Fabric applications can be found in agricultural fields as well as transportation networks.

Tensile membrane structures are lightweight fabric structures that allows us to stretch, twist and manipulate the fabric membrane into unique shapes and beautiful curves that would have otherwise been harder to accomplish via conventional structural materials & methods.

Due to the membrane’s unique free flowing properties, it easily allows us to design and shape fabric structures into a more natural and ergonomic shape. Being lightweight, tensile membrane and fabric structures require less structural support while being able to cover larger areas as big as sports arenas. This ‘lightweight’ aspect in turn translates into the overall structure looking less obtrusive and visually more appealing.

Another unique aspect to tensile membrane and fabric structures is its ability for visual manipulation via light projection. Due to its translucent properties, the membrane diffuses light uniformly throughout the surface area of the membrane. This effect is especially prevalent during the night time, as projected light produces a beautiful glowing effect on the fabric that is both elegant and exciting. This feature has been properly utilized, by architects & engineers, in public spaces such as in event areas, sports arenas and tourist hotspots.

Precision assembly of complex subassemblies into section of the completed structure is undertaken in fabrication which ensure accuracy, repeatability and where appropriate adaptability to accommodate dimensional variations of similar elements in structure.

Whether it is PTFE coated glass fibre or PVDF coated polyester products, natural or custom colors, our company employs a policy of only the best materials are being used in the projects that we are involved with as this will ensure the end products are achieved as desired. As warranties goes by, our fabrication warranty is backed by material warranties from the fabric manufacturers.
